Libby Margo

I felt inspired to write a few words about my Grandmother.......

A Grandmother Is Love
A Grandmother Is Life
One Who Defines Courage
And One Who Avoids Strife
A Grandmother Is Support
From Endeavor To Endeavor
A Grandmother When Disapproving
Will Still Love You Forever
A Grandmother Embraces Challenges
With Her Arms Open Wide
Because Her Family And Friends
Are There By Her Side
She Is Intelligent, Loving
A Person Who Speaks Her Mind
But One Thing Is For Certain
She The Best Grandmother You'll Ever Find.
By Phil Zipkin
I LOVE YOU GRANDMA

Saying Goodbye to Clothing

You'll be happy to know (for those of you who know me) tonight, I went through all my closets, drawers, etc. & (believe it or not) I am donating 4 VERY LARGE BAGS of clothing to charity. This includes jackets/coats, sweaters, jeans, etc. Many of my friends (& family) have known me to be the pack rat.....one who collects everything for sentimental value. Well......say no more, I'm becoming a little more organized. My motto is if you haven't worn an item of clothing in a long while it's time to depart with it. :-)
The good news is now I have a lot more closet space!!! :-)

Yet Another One....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: WIL
I've known Wil since high school.....not really sure what he's up to these days as it seems we've lost touch again. I only wish hiom the best in life.
Happy Birthday Wil.....Keep on smiling and enjoying life. I hope our pathes will cross soon. I hope your life is filled with happiness, love and success. Give me a shout when you have a moment. :-)

A picture for your enjoyment.....

Belated Message

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY: RENA STROBER
I met Rena in West Hollywood in 1997 at a bar called Revolver. We had an instant connection and since it was kareoke night on Mondays (it was like American Idol...the talent was amazing) we sang together a number of times. I'm happy to say that Rena made it to Broadway and has appeared off Broadway and on a few National tours. She's not only an amazing talent but an amazing person.

I love you Rena. Even though I don't get to see you as often as I'd like I still think of you all the time. You are such a refreshing energy in my life and I enjoy our time hanging out. I hope all is well at the La Jolla Playhouse. I wish I could come out there to see you shine. Happy Birthday (sorry this was late). I hope your brother pulled off your surprise party. :-) I was there in spirit. Miss you and know I always wish you well.

A Special Day

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: ELVIRA

I've known Elvira for since 1988 (a little shy of 20 years) and I love her with all my heart. She has a heart of gold and I know her husband Franz must treasure it. We've experienced, L.A., Boston, New York, and countless cruise destinations together where we've experienced unforgettable memories. On top of everything else Elvira asked me to be her Man of Honor last year @ her wedding in British Columbia, Canada. I miss having her as my neighbor in Forest Hills, but she's back in Los Angeles where I hope to visit soon.

OINK....I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you on your special day. I really wish I could be there with you, but sadly that is the reality of being miles apart. However, I hope you know I love you with all my heart and that I'm always with you in spirit. Enjoy your special day Elvira...you truly deserve nothing but the best in life. I miss you!!! RIBBIT!!

Montreal/Mont Tremblant

The anticipation is over....Montreal/Mont Tremblant was an amazing vacation, filled with sightseeing, the heart of the winter, and a romance that felt like a fairytale. We began our journey when Shawn picked me up @ Newark Penn Station & then briskly headed toward Quebec. After shuffling through our ipods (listening to practically every genre of music) & endless conversation (laughing, singing, etc) we arrived at the Delta Hotel in Montreal a little before 1am and headed to dreamland around 3am (Use your imagination). :-)

Montreal is located at 45°30 N / -73°36 W. It is the largest city in Quebec and the second largest in Canada, with a metropolitan population of 3,359,000. Montreal is one of two large islands in this part of the St. Lawrence River. On Saturday, we wandered around shopped a bit, explored McGill University, took the metro (which was VERY clean unlike NYC), walked around most of downtown area and enjoyed restaurants such as CAFE VASCO DA GAMA, CREPERIE CHEZ SUZETTE & SALOON CAFE BISTRO. Nothing could be finer than finishing the night in a smokey dive bar with horrendous drag queens and beer served in pitchers. It was craptacular! We have pictures!! The following day we ended up sleeping in, taking in a view of the city from Mount Royal (Hiking a little) and then heading on to Mont Tremblant which was an 1.5 hours away.

Mont Tremblant, North of Montreal, this wonderful resort offers some of the best skiing in eastern North America. This is one of the cutest villages I've ever seen. It felt very European to me and it was amazing to hear everyone speaking French. I have picutres...coming soon! And our hotel (Le Lodge de la Montagne) it felt like being in a rustic cottage with a fire place, kitchen and a lounge. That's my kind of getaway. Wow!!! We took in the scenery after the sun went down & then enjoyed an evening dining at Coco Pazzo wining and dining with an amazing assortment of cuisine (elk was amongst the list). We then went back to the resort, enjoyed a bottle of Shiraz, danced the night away, and well...this was this night where he asked me to be his boyfriend. I was a little taken back because I wasn't expecting it, but so excited to be make an impact on someone you really like. The emotions.....unexplainable.

Monday, Shawn was excited about hitting the slopes as I spent time getting to to know the area. There was a cute little lift (The Cabriolet Lift: Sponsered by Volkswagen) that overlooked the village where we took pictures and I pulled out the video camera. Wow again. It was especially comforting to see the look in Shawn's eyes as I verbally expressed my excitement for in Mont Tremblant and being with him. I'm sold!! :-) After the skiing and shopping weent back to the resort & played pool and took a dip in the hot tub. I have pictures!! Don't worry, they're PG! :-)Our final meal was celebrated at LES ARTISTES and it was amazing....loved the Escargot. Our final even was just as wonderful as the rest, we shared a bottle of Francis Coppola merlot, over music, we danced again, as well as gave massages to one another. :-) Very romantic. We headed back on Tuesday holding hands practically the entire way back, sad to return to our daily routine

I realize as I tried to break down my experiences that it was difficult to elaborate and express everything that took place. PERFECT would be the word that best describes my emotional journey of both Quebec and Shawn. I wasn't sure how this would all pan out but honest and truly, it was an unforgettablele adventure. PARFAIT!!!!!!

Quebec

The long anticipated blog entry about my romantic getaway to Montreal/Mont Tremblant Quebec....will still remain anticipated. Sadly, moments after I returned I was already in rehearsal with UPEX, went home, ate a late dinner over American Idol and then hit the pillow. I promise to write within the next couple days so please stay tuned. I will tell you that (drumroll) Shawn asked me to be his boyfriend.....and I said yes. Nothing could be finer.....

To Be Continued....

Life

Not a day goes by that I'm not reminded how fleeting life is, how much we have to get done & how important it is that we do it well.

Crazy In New York

OK.....maybe the New Yorkers who read this may empathize with this experience. Have ever been on the subway and experienced the behavior of a crazy person (not sure what the proper, politically correct way to say it)? Almost to the point of making you feel uncomfortable or fearful? I was on the subway and in my morning daze witnessed something different. At the Queens Plaza stop this beautiful girl (model type) enetered the subway and sat close to me. She appeared to be normal until she started having a full on conversation with herself. I mean, she was hearing voices and responding to them. Whoa....that was insane. You couldn't help but look at her because she was drawing attention to herself.

You never know what to expect in this city. I'm sure if I asked you about it you'd practically have a story everyday. Looking forward to hearing about it! :-)

The "Keys" to Happiness

You could say that yesterday started out fairly decent. I was desparetly starving for an adjustment with my chiropractor, met up with Dan in the West Village for dinner & headed home to Forest Hills. I was so tired I was relieved to be home. As I was standing in front of my mailbox I realized that my keys were sitting on my desk @ work. I took a deep breath & went to grab the spare set from the doorman. It turns out that the superintendent irresponsibly forgot to return them sooooo to it's proper home sooooo I was forced to head back to the city. I was beyond exhausted and ready to cry.

I realized on the subway that my office was locked and that security would have to open it. I really wasn't sure what the procedure was considering it's the first time this has happened. I think a mild breakdown was in order, wouldn't you say? I reached out to Shawn, but sadly his voicemail was my comfort, I left a detailed sob story of my actions. When I finally reached my work destination I had a message waiting for me, saying (more or less) if you need me to come out to help you or just ot give you a hug, I'd be more than happy to. :-) WOW! How amazing is that?

I quickly learned I had to have an engineer open my office. It was the longest procedure and a VERY long emotional roller coaster, however I finally had my keys when all was said and done. Once everything felt Kosher Shawn, the ultimate gentleman, gracefully said "'If you're going have a couple glasses of wine well maybe we can toast together" Soooooo, he drove from Westfield NJ (from work) to Forest Hills to comfort me, support me, and just to be with me. I didn't even ask, he offered. HOW AMAZING!! I feel very lucky. I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion.....going to bed, feeling at peace and waking up next to this handsome, generous, caring guy.

What a Feeling

OKAY, the picture of me as a sailor was just to get your attention and has no relevance to this entry. :-) As I nurse my cup of java I sit here completely exhausted. I have to be at work early for a meeting so I can't perform the usual blank stare in from of the computer until I force myself to take a shower. The last couple days have been chaos at work, fun musically, but also amazing because of Shawn.

I know.....I tend to talk about him a lot now, but we've been dating for 2 months & I find myself thinking about him on a regular basis (the feelings are reciprocated). Happily, we're taking things slowly and exploring each other's lives.....the honeymoon period. We have an anticipated game plan to spend 4 days in Montreal next week...I will keep you posted. And on that note......time to hit the shower.

Crazy Schedule

I know I've been slacking on the blogging, but I've been leading a VERY active life (sorry for those I've neglected). Work is incredibly busy........I literally have no time during the day for myself. In addition, performing with Uptown Express 3 weeks in a row (last night was at the Mandrin Oriental Hotel), Chris Redding leaving town on 3/2, trying to maintain a social life, Editing the wedding video for Kim and Rob, and my new and exciting romance with Shawn. The highlights of this past weekend was Chris' going away party, performing with Uptown Express at Sara Beths (there was an open bar), The Boathouse in Central Park (and the park itself) with Shawn, & meeting David/Kenneth at Rosa Mexicana to discuss potential details of a new music group. :-) I'm looking forward to hanging out with Alex and Billy for Happy Hour drinks and my VERY SMALL dinner party with Alicia, Brooke, Dan and Shawn on Saturday night. Overall, life is great. I've posted the picture of Shawn and I having a blast in Central Park.
