HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR!!!

It's been over 2 weeks since I've posted any form of commentary. The holidays can be stressful and time consuming so I'm blaming Santa for my writing woes. :-) On that note, here's the breakdown of the last few weeks.

12/19: 11 month anniversary with Shawn

12/20: Worked @ The Riverside Church for the Messiah concert
12/21: Saw Drowsy Chaperone at the Marquis Theatre. LOVED IT!!!!!!

12/22: Shawn & the family (Mom, Dad, Heather, Jerry, Hayley, Jacqueline, and Ashely) were in town to see the Rockefeller Tree and went to the New York State Theatre to see The Nutcracker. I met them afterwards out front and we headed to NJ.

12/23: Shawn and I celebrated our good friend Ruth's 30th Birthday at our friend Jody's Pad alongside with Brooke, Andrew and many others. Our taste buds were delighted by Russian cuisine and many, many deserts. The evening ended with a spirited game of In the manner of the adverb and Pictionary.

12/24: Christmas Eve was celebrated at the Day residence in NJ. My special gift to the family was none other than a Karaoke machine. Who knew Karaoke could be so entertaining (well, with several alcoholic beverages anything is fun). We were up until 1:30am singing and laughing. Great food, great fun, a night to remember. :-)

12/25: Both Shawn and I opened presents in NJ and soon after we drove to Delaware to hang out with family.

12/26: Lazy Day at home...no specific plans that I can remember

12/27: Attended fellow chorus friend Thomas and Brian commitment ceremony at Candela Restaurant on East 16th Street in NYC. The ceremony was short and sweet, the space was elegant and charming, the food/drinks/staff were very accommodating, and the guest were fun and receptive. This was the first commitment ceremony/marriage I've attended. Wow, it was an honor to be a guest and to be apart of such an amazing and memorable experience. I wish both Thomas and Brian the happiest life together. Dreams really do come true. :-) Happily, I was also able to spend time with my friend Michael and Larry for LA. Our schedules were conflicted due to work and other travel arrangements so I was happy just to have a drink with them.

12/28: Flight to San Diego. Shawn and I arrived around 2ish, rented a car and then headed directly to good friend Sarah & Devin's pad. We were introduced to Tanner (their dog) and the new twins Addison and Sophie (so adorable). After we hung out for a bit we headed to the rehearsal dinner for good friend Marianne & Eric's wedding. In a Luau setting, everyone was dressed in Hawaiian gear. Amongst the guest, I was able to spend time with the San Diego posse Michael & Gladys, Kristi, Chris, and Beth. I wasn't sure how Shawn would be received being that Chris (my ex) were amongst present company, but I knew they would love him in time....We ended the evening early because we were both exhausted from travelling.

12/29: Marianne & Eric's big day. I was was stressing out a bit because I was responsible for filming the wedding. After we arrived in Coronado at the Military base where the ceremony was being held I quickly became adjusted and ready to work. The ceremony was about 10 minutes, capturing what marriage is all about. In the background, there was a magnificent view of the bay which made the perfect setting for a wedding. Directly following, drinks were available and appetizers buffet style. Once the sun set, the wedding party & guests of honor were introduced. It wasn't long after that all of us were dancing and enjoying the night. Marianne's wedding dress was exceptionally beautiful, highlighting light skin tone perfectly...amazing choice. Once the reception was over, Shawn and I headed over to the historic Del Coronado Hotel. WOW...it was awesome, especially with all the Christmas decorations still in their glory. We were joined by Kristi and stayed for one glass of wine. Afterwards, surprisingly we headed to Dave N' Busters to finish the night. Yes, we played & played & played several games and called it a night around 1ish.

12/30: Shawn and I spent the day with Sarah & Devin. We headed to UCSD campus where Sarah and I met, then to Balboa Park. We picked up the best Mexican food in town and sat on a blanket in the park. It was so relaxing and orgasmic (my carne asada burrito was to die for). We then walked around the area for a few hours then headed home. Sarah made an exceptional Lasagna with salad and we played Taboo. So much fun...I love them!

12/31: Shawn & I woke up early, ate breakfast and headed to Pacific Beach (my old stomping grounds). It was just as I remembered it...it felt like home. I felt so at peace taking Shawn to Sail Bay which was located 100 footsteps from my old apartment. We spent about 30 minutes and then headed to downtown PB. We ate brunch over looking the beach. The temperature was about 70 degrees. After PB, we headed to Belmont Park to ride the Big Dipper (the infamous wooden roller coaster). So much fun!!! And then we drove to Old Town, explored the area and ate at the Coyote Cafe...yes, I am a creature of habit. Shawn loved all of it. :-) We then headed to Devin's new office to help him move a few heavy items from his car. Sadly, by the time we got there he had already done it. :-( Oh well, we tried! :-) We then spent the rest of the day with Sarah and Devin. Sarah prepared (with Shawn and I as her assistants) 3 Rib Eye Steaks, 4 huge king crab legs, and garlic bread. OMG...Sarah is a genius in the kitchen..we ate like pigs and enjoyed every moment of it. :-) Around 10:30 we headed to Marianne/Eric's parents house for a very tame New Year's Eve. We brought in the New Year with Champagne and lots of hugs. We then said out goodbyes to everyone and headed back to Sarah and Devins.

1/1/07: HAPPY NEW YEAR! We had breakfast and said our goodbyes to Sarah & Devin then headed to the airport around noon. We arrived in NYC around 12:30am and cabbed it back to Forest Hills. We were TIRED!!!!

1/2: Headed back to work. Hung out with my friend Chris from LA who was cat sitting for me while in San Diego. We ate at El Centro in Midtown and had a drink at Vlada where we were joined by Shawn, Kenneth, Greg (from the chorus) & a few of his friends.

1/3: Chris and I said our goodbyes as he was headed back to LA.

1/4: Worked

1/5: Dinner at Pam's Real Thai Encore on 47th Street with Dan, Brooke, Andrew, Alicia, Jody & Shawn. Finished the evening at the Coffee Pot where we played the card game Bull Shit. HIL-arious! :-)

1/6: Lazy Day....Had dinner with Shawn's parents in Ridgewood at Trattoria Fratelli (excellent) & saw Dreamgirls immediately following.

1/7: Made our final arrangements for our New Zealand Trip coming up this Friday (1/12)

That's all folks!!!!!
